The population of non-closing plant workers consisted of workers from 12 GM plants not scheduled to close in the Metropolitan Detroit or Greater Flint areas that also met the following criteria: greater than 100 employees; demographically similar to closing plants; not currently involved in a similar research project; and not a warehouse or distribution center.
